July 30, 1945-Sept. 9, 2024 Carolyn R. McGill, 79, passed away Sept. 9, 2024, at her residence in Florida, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 30, 1945, in Excelsior Springs and raised by her father, Charles Mays Acree.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, John Quincy “Catfish John” McGill; sister, Pat Euper; and brother, Charles Tilton Acree.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Smith (Michael); sister, Mary Bates; brothers, Graham Revere Acree and Henry Acree; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Carolyn enjoyed working as an LPN and fishing. There will be no services.
