Carolyn Jean Bandy, 82, passed away on Feb. 15, 2022, at her home in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Carolyn Jean Russell was born on Aug. 8, 1939, in Norborne, MO, to Joseph and Florence (Clark) Russell. She was the oldest of four daughters who grew up in rural Missouri.

After high school, Carolyn moved to urban areas of Kansas City, MO, and Denver, CO.  During this time, her high school sweetheart, Jack T. Bandy, took leave from the military and came back to the states and married Carolyn.  She went to Germany until Jack finished his military career.  During their time in Germany, they had a son, David.  Upon the military discharge, the three moved to southern California where they had another son, Darrell.  During this time, Carolyn was a stay-at-home mom until pursuing a career in the computer industry.  When her sons were adults, she remarried to George Redman, and they lived in South Carolina.  When Carolyn’s mother became ill, she moved to Buckner, MO, to be her mother’s fulltime caretaker for 10 years.

Carolyn was known for her fried chicken and enjoyed cooking for those she loved.  She enjoyed country music and dancing and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.  She enjoyed being a homebody and eating pecan caramel turtle candy and using her quick wit and pleasant sense of humor.  Carolyn enjoyed continuing her learning by taking computer courses and additional education for entertainment.  She is loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her two sons, David Bandy and Darrell (Erica) Bandy.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, in Wakenda Cemetery, Hardin.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2022, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
