Buddy "Bud" E.  Fields - age 93 of Polo, MO passed away Sunday morning, June 26, 2022, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer. Buddy was born on April 23, 1929, the son of Earl and Thelma (Robinson) Fields at home in the Hickory Grove community. Bud grew up in Hickory Grove and attended school there. He was a 1947 graduate of Richmond High School.   He married Billie Lewis on May 16th, 1948, in Miami, Oklahoma. Bud worked for Rohrer Construction for many years and farmed his entire life. He enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time at the family cabin on Truman Lake. Bud had a great sense of humor and loved life. He was a jokester and known to be ornery. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  

 
Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Billie; infant daughter, Lynan Fields; parents, Earl and Thelma Fields; sister, Flo Burnett; his nephew, Jim Burnett, and great-nephew Jeffrey Burnett.  He is survived by his  children, Bob Fields of Liberty, MO and Shelly Lorenz of Polo, MO;  grandchildren, Heather Bursley (Sean) of Cameron, MO, Warren Fields (Alicia) of Liberty, MO, and Natalie Fields of Independence, MO; five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Zach (Bailey), Cooper, Waylon and Amayah; five great-great-grandchildren, Brylee, Brody, Rallen, Ellie, and Millie;  siblings, Lois Vier of Kearney, MO, Carol Clevenger (Rodney) of Polo, MO, and Gail Rodgers (Dale) of Smithville, MO; several nieces and nephews and other extended family members also survive. 
  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Evergreen Cemetery in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 2nd, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home in Polo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Friday evening, also at the funeral home. Friends may call after 9 AM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer.
