Bruce Allen Moore, Jr., 57, of Richmond, died Thursday, Mar. 24, 2022, at St. Luke’s Plaza in Kansas City.

Bruce was born on Mar. 6, 1965, in Kansas City, the son of Bruce Allen and Barbara (Drew) Moore, Sr.  He was united in marriage to Maxine Lee Burt of Kansas City on June 15, 1985; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include daughter, Jessica (Brian) Campbell of Richmond; son, Caleb (Shelby) Moore of Richmond; six grandchildren, Aliya Campbell, Isabella Campbell, Gage Campbell, Adelyn Moore, Brayden Moore, and Emersyn Moore; mother, Barbara Drew-Moore-McBride of Richmond; father and stepmother, Bruce Allen (Karen) Moore, Sr. of Stover; brother, John (Belinda) Moore of Kansas City; two sisters, Angela Tipton of Stover and Renee (Lou) VanAlst of Kansas City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Eva Drew; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Harry Burt, Jr.

Bruce was reared and educated in the area of his birth and graduated from Northeast High School in the class of 1983.  He then attended Vo-Tech College to become a mechanic.  Bruce’s work history included A&B Automotive in Kansas City, Firestone in Liberty, and Jay Wolfe Toyota in Kansas City.  He enjoyed fishing, his family, especially his grandchildren, and playing video games with Willie Tubs (his 20-pound cat best friend).

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bruce Allen Moore, Jr. Memorial Fund.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with memorial services were held on Tuesday, Mar. 29, 2022, at the Hardin Christian Church, Southeast 3rd Street, Hardin, MO 64035. Visitation began at 1 p.m., and services followed at 2 p.m.  Inurnment will be held at a later date.
