Brian James “Boo” McGill, 46, of Orrick passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, at Ray County Memorial Hospital.

Brian was born on Feb. 11, 1974 in Fayette to Terry Ray McGill and Pamela Jean (Schreier) McGill. He had lived in the Orrick area all his life, and attended and graduated from Orrick High School.

Brian, better known by his family and friends as “Boo,” was a fun-loving and talented man. He had a jovial and fun personality that made him fun to be around. He liked to work on old cars and especially liked to build hot rod cars. Boo also was a good artist. He loved going to gun shows and he loved taking Terry Ray shooting. Boo liked spending time with his family, taking his boys fishing or working on Alex and Zane’s cars with them.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Ray McGill, in 1998 and his stepfather, Billy Lewis, in 2019, along with his aunt, Darla Schreier.

Boo is survived by his wife, Julie McGill of the home in Orrick; sons, Alex McGill, Zane McGill and Terry McGill, all of Orrick; his mother, Pamela Lewis of Orrick; brother, Jeff McGill (Serena ) of Richmond; brother-in-law, Aron Thomas and a sister-in-law, Shannon Thomas of Orrick. His also is survived by several aunts and uncles and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation with viewing will be Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m., also at the funeral home, with Rev. Art Endsley officiating. Cremation to follow the services.

Memorials in his honor are suggested to be given to the Boo McGill Memorial Fund, payable to Julie McGill.
