Body

Dec. 28, 1954-Aug. 17, 2023 Bradley Eugene Thomas was born Dec. 28, 1954, to Carol and Lucille (Pat) Thomas in Sedalia. When Brad was 12 years old, his family relocated to Richmond, where he completed his high school years. He loved sports and was involved in all sports throughout his high school years. Brad attended and graduated from Central Missouri State University (now the University of Central Missouri) in Warrensburg. He was a member of Theta Chi, where he developed strong relationships with his fraternity brothers.

After graduating college, Brad made a career in the insurance business in the field of personal lines underwriting. He was employed for 37 years with American Family Insurance, working in both the Kansas City and St. Joseph offices, retiring in 2018. Brad developed many friendships with co-workers that went beyond working relationships.

Brad was an avid sports fan, not only in participating, but also in watching all types of sports. He especially enjoyed football and baseball. When his competitive baseball playing days ended, Brad joined a recreational softball team, where again, he developed many friendships.

The greatest love and joy in his life was his family. In 1991, he married Mary Wiggin (Locke) and instantly became a dad to Stacey. Brad and Mary had two children, Bradley ”Jordan” and Bailey, who were the light of his life.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille (Pat) Thomas in 2002 and Carol Thomas in 2013.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of the home; children, Bradley “Jordan” of Kansas City-North, Bailey Elizabeth (Parker Sterni) of North Kansas City and Stacey Stroble (Travis Best) of Nevada; brother, Carl Thomas of Richmond; and granddaughter, Paige Stroble of Liberty. Brad also is survived by Pat Cummings, his friend of 49 years and godfather to Jordan and Bailey.

Brad will be deeply missed by his family, extended family and many friends.

A celebration of life for Brad will be announced at a later date.
