Barbara Ann (West) Pennington, 77, of Hardin passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, at her home. Barbara was born July 23, 1947, in Carrollton, the daughter of A.J. and Helen (Schneider) West. She was united in marriage to Clarence Pennington of Hardin on Sept. 12, 1988. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2021. Survivors include her three sons, John (Shelley) Wolfe of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jeff (Stacy) Wolfe and Matthew Wolfe, both of Hardin; and two grandchildren, Kyle Wolfe and Kaitlyn (Eric) Szabelski. Other survivors include her stepson, Bud (Sarah) Pennington; brother, Richard West of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Lola Duesenberg of Weston; and stepsister, Patsy Pennington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy West; and two sisters, Ethel McGinnis and Carolyn Stanton.

Barbara was raised and educated in her hometown, graduating from Hardin-Central High School. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed painting, sewing, reading and macrame, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic talent.

Barbara also loved adventure and spent many cherished moments riding motorcycles alongside her husband. Her favorite game was Yahtzee.

She was a woman of strong faith and was devoted to her Christian beliefs.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society or Humane Society of Ray County. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in Carrollton Memory Gardens. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
