What specific health risks are you concerned about in relation to the presence of marijuana dispensaries?
Isaacson: “There is an abundance of long-term effects on the brain, such as anxiety, panic attacks, delusions, memory loss, loss of motor stability, loss of coordination and many others. The risk of heart attack can increase up to five times within the first hour of smoking marijuana. Marijuana can cause permanent IQ loss of as much as eight points in young people.”
How do you think banning dispensaries might affect the local economy in terms of potential tax revenue and job creation?
Isaacson: “While there would be a 3% tax on retail sales if dispensaries operate in the county, the potential cost will also increase. I am not convinced that the county having more tax money will help our economy directly. As for jobs, this is no more benefit than any new…
