Two Richmond residents and a young Carrollton man were involved in a plane crash just before noon on July 13 in Osage Beach. Evan Vandiver, 19, of Richmond and Hayden Ritchhart, 22, of Carrollton succumbed to injuries at the scene of a plane crash. Gary Vandiver, 54, of Richmond was seriously injured and was life-flighted to Columbia, where he is listed in critical condition. “We believe Mr. Ritchhart was the pilot,” said Osage Beach Police Chief Todd Davis. “National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating how the crash portion of the plane.” According to the Osage Beach Police Department press release, the takeoff was from the Grand Glaize Airport in Camden County and the crash was reported shortly after. “A subject near the airport saw a plane take off and then appeared to crash shortly after.
