RICHMOND – Sheriffs are not above the law, they do not get to pick and choose which laws to follow, they take an oath to obey the law and Sheriff Scott Childers found himself clubbed by internet trolls for doing his job. “I’m laughing because I find it hilarious,” Childers said. From the comfort of their caves, trolls attacked Childers after his office had recovered 20 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $40,000. He posted a photo of himself and Lt. Amy Sisson with the bags and stated he planned to destroy the weed after receiving permission. Dozens of posts expressing opinions, many negative, including insults about Childers’ size, followed. Some people suggested his small, rural law enforcement group in a county of about 23,200 people should focus on meth dealers. Deputies do. “Find all the meth and then we’ll be impressed,” Eric Perryman stated in one of the tame critiques. “This thing has caught wildfire and there’s people from all different (countries). ……
