Teen facing additional charges involving death of child
A Ray County teen is now facing additional charges connected to a 2025 fatal driving while intoxicated case.
Madelynn L. Carroll, 18, was charged in 2025 with a class C felony of DWI – death of another. Following an amended complaint filed by Ray County Prosecutor Camille Johnston, Carroll is now facing four additional charges, including two felonies of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child – death of a child and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk. Additionally, she’s been charged with two infractions: operatinga noncommercial motor vehicle while unlawfully using a communication device and violating provisions of an intermediate driver’s license or temporary instruction permit.
Carroll recently entered not guilty pleas to the amended charges before Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Lori J. Baskins. She previously posted a $50,000 bond, with 10% allowed and remains on house arrest with conditions.
