Teamwork saves infant, earns County crews top honor
What began as a desperate call for help ended in a miracle, as Ray County first responders were recently recognized for reviving an eight-week-old infant who had stopped breathing, proving what can happen when courage and training collide in a single moment.
LifeFlight Eagle presented its Life Saver Award during a recent ceremony at Richmond City Hall, recognizing members of Ray County 911, the Richmond Police and Fire departments, Ray County Ambulance District and Ray County Hospital for their extraordinary efforts in rescuing an infant named Everly after she stopped breathing at home in August.
Honorees included Ray County 911 dispatchers Katie Quigley and Scott Shafer, Richmond Police Department Corporal Cody Davis and Patrolman Cole Smith, Richmond Fire Department firefighters Zeb Williams and Dayton Bushong and Chief Mark Sowder and Ray County Ambulance District Paramedic Scott Williams and EMT Brandon Niemeier.
