Taco Jalisco set to open

RICHMOND – The Tequila Jalisco folks continue efforts to reopen their original restaurant on East South Street and Missouri Highway 13, and to open a second restaurant, Taco Jalisco. A Feb. 27 kitchen fire damaged part of Tequila Jalisco. The casual, family-style, sit-down Mexican restaurant should reopen around late-April to early May, co-owner Miguel Valencia said Monday. The fire damaged part of the roof deck around the roof exhaust vent, the interior ceiling, a fryer and the hood ventilation system, and left smoke in the building – all of which required replacement or repair. The sign is up and the new Taco Jalisco restaurant should open around mid-April, Valencia said. He stopped work in the new restaurant for a twominute talk about what future residents should expect to find when they enter and step up to the counter.
