Summer Bash and Market hosted through rain

One of the many things FORFFA (Friends of Richmond Farmers of America) does is raise scholarship money for Richmond High School (RHS) FFA seniors. This year, FORFFA tried something new to raise money – the Summer Bash and Market — held last Saturday. The organization developed a market at the RHS parking lot and hosted food trucks, vendors, a bounce house and crafts on the rainy day. RHS alumni and FORFFA President Erin Dana explained the group fundraisers and support events, activities and scholarships. “The idea was to find a way to earn a big portion of money for the FORFFA scholarships. Last year, we presented $3,000 in scholarships for students – that takes a bit of money coming in,” said Dana. “We thought this event would be fun, even if it’s raining.” Honing in Spartan pride, Dana is proud to support the students. “It makes me proud we can financially assist students after high school because my husband and I had boys in FFA – we know what the program entails.
