Spartan tradition grows with recognition of longtime supporters
The Richmond R-XVI School District has found a new way to celebrate the people who have stood behind its student athletes for decades. This fall, the administration began recognizing longtime contributors to Spartan athletics during home football games, highlighting the deep ties between the school district and its community.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Trey Cavanah noted the idea was born from a desire to thank those who have given their time, resources and energy to support Richmond athletics. Each honoree has been presented with a ceremonial plaque of appreciation on the field before kickoff, turning Friday nights into moments of gratitude and reflection.
