Shipp dedicates 20 years
A City of Richmond employee is celebrating 20 years of dedication to the city and its well-being.
During his 20-year tenure with the City of Richmond, Dale Shipp has diligently progressed from an entry-level role to his current position as Director of Public Works.
“I started out just as a laborer with public works,” said Shipp. “First place they put me was at the sewer treatment plant. I helped do stuff around there and did some painting and groundskeeping. Then, they had me go over and help put in water meters and pick some water lines.”
Shipp later transitioned to working with the street crew, where he meticulously oversaw street patches and maintained stop signs. Following this role, he shifted his focus to the intricate task of water leak repair and dedicated himself to obtaining a wastewater treatment license.
