Pursuit of a suspect last week led by the Ray County Sheriff’s Office resulted in an apprehension – and a two-vehicle accident. Cody Montez of Columbia is in custody in the Ray County Jail in Henrietta, Sheriff Scott Childers said during a Wednesday morning interview at the Richmond News offices. At press time, the county charges against Montez included four felonies – three counts of second-degree assault against a special victim, one count of resisting arrest, detention and/ or stop by fleeing, Missouri court records posted on Case.net state. Montez reportedly fled after being approached June 21 in Henrietta by Ray County deputies, Childers said. “We were contacted about a person being slumped over in a vehicle in Henrietta,” he said. “And so, deputies went out to check on the subject in the vehicle.
