School board reports progress; handles issues
Due to the expected favorable weather conditions, construction progress is expected to continue at the Early Childhood Development Center. Immediate plans include completing the roofing, and continuing exterior framing, as well as waterproofing and installing interior systems.
R-XVI Director of Operations Jeff Southwick
provided an update on the construction of the Early Childhood Development Center during the January school board meeting. The team has been making consistent progress on the new addition, having completed the interior framing and mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, as well as the first stages of the roofing.
“They’ll begin waterproofing the exterior block walls, which should be completed in the next two weeks,” said Southwick. “Despite 13 additional weather days, the project remains on track for substantial completion by May 13 and final completion by May 30, with 67% of the work completed to date.”
