Richmond schools prepare for new year

The Richmond R-XVI School District is preparing to welcome students and families to the 2025-26 school year, with a focus on strengthening partnerships between schools and families to help all students reach their highest potential. District leaders emphasized students need and deserve strong school and family relationships to be successful. Families are recognized as students’first and most important teachers and the district views collaboration as essential to supporting student achievement. Officials stated the district shares in the responsibility for each child’s success and is committed to fulfilling that role. This school year marks three major building anniversaries. Sunrise Elementary will celebrate its 20-year anniversary, Richmond Middle School will celebrate 30 years and Richmond High School will mark its 40year milestone.
