Richmond preacher partners with Bethel Home Health

A Ray County preacher recently informed the Richmond City Council of his plans to partner with Bethel Home Health to manage a day habilitation upstairs and a daycare in the basement of an old church. An old church located at 606 S. Camden Street in Richmond was purchased, according to Phil Powers, preacher at New Beginnings church. “The church bought it a couple of years ago and we wanted to bless the community with the building,” he said. Day Habilitation is a program for the Mentally Handicapped. Similar Day Habilitation Facilities offer developmentally and intellectually disabled consumers a place for onsite activities that help promote functional independence. Formalized training and staff support are offered to promote skill development for the acquisition, retention or improvement in self-help, socialization and adaptive skills.
