Richmond Kiwanians donates musical toys to park

TWO NEW OUTDOOR musical instruments are in place at Hamann Park, thanks to community support of the Richmond Kiwanis Club. Richmond Parks and Recreation Department employees installed the instruments in early November, shortly after the Kiwanis Club celebrated its 100-year anniversary. “Community support of our celebration allowed us to purchase the instruments,” said Richmond Kiwanis President Maxine Moore. The club purchased a bongo drum set and a glockenspiel. Both are installed in a portion of the park intended for young children. “Kiwanians serve the needs of children all over the world,” Moore said. “This project was a perfect way for us to celebrate our milestone anniversary.” On hand for the installation were Richmond City Administrator Tonya Willim and Recreation Director Haley Williams, along with parks and recreation staff members Mindy Todd and Drew Brotherton.
