Richmond engages public in planning for progress

RICHMOND – Civic leaders, city staff and development pros united in the city gym for a charrette to create and prioritize community plans, such as whether multifamily housing and better water lines are needed. “Things are going very well,” Richmond City Manager Tonya Willim said, with the public providing valued input. “The stakeholders and technical committee met yesterday and today, so I’m hoping that a lot of overall citizen involvement will come in and look at everything that we’ve done so far and maybe give us some ideas on maybe some things they missed or things they would like to see.” “It’s really kind of exciting to get to do this,” Mayor Mike Wright said.
