Richmond Area Chamber hoping for hole-in-one

The Richmond Area Chamber is hosting its first golf tournament at Shirkely Golf Course on June 15, 2024. The formally debtfree chamber is raising money to pay off a muchneeded HVAC system installed last year. “We are thrilled to be hosting the inaugural chamber golf tournament,” said Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce Director Jayne Taylor. “It is important to build relationships in the community with networking, camaraderie and a lot of fun.” There will be engaging activities at almost every hole to test participants’ skills and foster friendly competition — from the longest drive and closest to the pin contest, to a margarita tent on hole number eight. Teams of four will receive a team goody bag. With registration beginning at 8 a.m., two flights of golfers will take off with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The first-place prize for each flight is $400 and second place teams will receive $200.
