During the Wood Heights City Council meeting Monday, resident David Stephens came in before city council members, including Mayor Frank Davitt, council members Kathy Hart, Randy Jones, Bernard Allen, Ron Lambert and City Clerk Merry Marler. Stephens expressed frustrations with the members and asked about communication. “What I want talk about is the communications that is going on between the city and the residents,” said Stephens. He elaborated on an incident where a postal worker was allegedly approached by resident Lanny Holman, 62, holding a BB gun who claimed he was using the gun to shoot at cats on his property. Holman was charged Wednesday with a felony – first-degree harassment. His bond is set at $5,000 by Ray County Judge Lori Baskins. The postal worker had no knowledge of what kind of gun it was and the behavior was reported to the postmaster, who suspended all mailing services for every resident down that road.
