RCSO assists in sex trafficking arrests, rescues
Human trafficking, a heinous and widespread crime, inflicts profound suffering on individuals from diverse backgrounds across the globe.
Recently, the Ray County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) joined a concerted initiative to combat trafficking, resulting in the apprehension of multiple perpetrators and the rescue of victims.
“The Proximus Group, Church on Fire, Women of Alabaster, United Child Taskforce, Salvation Army and RCSO Task Force Officers (TFOs) joined with the Cincinnati Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations to form a unique partnership that had outstanding results,” said United States Homeland Security Special Agent in Charge Shawn S. Gibson. “Utilizing resources of non-government organizations and the authority of the law enforcement personnel, these efforts resulted in nine state arrests, five of which will be ultimately prosecuted federally, five victims who accepted services and two recovered minors.
