Ray County Museum hosts ghost hunt
The Ray County Museum and Haunted Souls Society collaborated to bring a ghost-hunting experience to the area recently.
The event began with a short gathering to explain equipment and what to expect during the seven-hour investigation.
The Haunted Souls Society provided a beginner tool kit for inexperienced investigators. It includes digital and analog high electromagnetic field (EMF) detectors, a lantern, radiating electromagnetic (REM) polls made of both copper and brass, and a set of flashing cat ball toys.
“We will put them on the ground and walk far enough away where we can still see them. When we encounter a spirit, we will ask them to move the balls,” said Haunted Souls Society team leader Nick Campafna. The participants were encouraged to use all five of their senses - hearing, sight, touch, smell, and taste throughout the evening.
