The attorneys we’ve talked to say, if we put zoning and inscriptions more on a microbusiness than a liquor store, then they’re going to have a lawsuit because we are treating them unfairly. ~ Presiding Commissioner Billy Gaines Prevention Specialists for the Ray County Coalition, Deborah Neel and Emily Barnes recently met with area residents regarding multiple community topics. Topics of discussion included Amendment 3 definitions, zoning, the county’s three percent from the marijuana county tax, the opioid settlement and the handle with care program. Regarding Amendment Three, Barnes told the audience there are not currently adult marijuana facilities in Ray County. “There are currently not any grow facilities or dispensaries in Ray County,” said Barnes. “The way the rollout is happening is about next year, applications can be submitted for a micro business which can be a standalone, adult-use marijuana facility.
