Ray County 911 weighs consultant review ahead of move
Ray County 911 officials have postponed proceedings with an external review of emergency communications operations as the agency prepares to transition to a new facility. The decision was made during a recent Ray County 911 Board meeting.
Board members considered a proposal from Fitch and Associates of Platte City, the only submission received in response to a request for proposals seeking consulting services to evaluate agency performance. Members agreed the firm appeared qualified but expressed interest in further discussion before approving the contract.
“I personally think, as we prepare to move into a new facility and everything else, it would be wise to get an analysis of our performance,” said Chairman Paul Harris. “There may be nothing to change, but if there’s not, it’s nice to know.”
Board member Jimmy Carter said the evaluation may reveal things of which the group is unaware.
“Hopefully, it says perfect shape and nothing wrong,” said Carter. “If there’s any inefficiency…
