QUICK AND UNEXPLAINED EXIT

Posted in:
RICHMOND – A Richmond Middle School teacher left the district abruptly last Friday, but the district is not saying whether a racial slur led to the departure. The district did not fire the teacher, Superintendent Greg Darling said Monday, erasing part of a rumor that had been circulating within the community. “That’s not true,” Darling said. But Darling declined to provide details to define whatever might have happened or been said before the teacher’s sudden decision to leave. “All I can say is that a situation occurred at the middle school and that person has resigned and is no longer working for us.” Darling declined to either confirm or deny any type of comment prompted the teacher’s decision to leave the district. The first-year district teacher, who is not being identified, left the middle school before completing a full semester.
