Prosecutor’s investigator subpoenaed

In a petition for quo warranto filed against former Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers, a subpoena and deposition have been requested for Ray County Prosecutor’s Office Investigator Heidi Morgan. Meanwhile, the hearing originally scheduled would have addressed several motions in the ongoing battle between Missouri State Attorney General Andrew Bailey and Childers, who recently lost his bid to hold the position in the primary election. As of press time, a replacement court date for the canceled hearing has not been listed. Childers is still scheduled for trial at 9 a.m. on September 9. On March 7, Childers was ousted from his position amidst ongoing investigations and was placed on paid administrative leave. This decision was initiated by Bailey, who utilized a petition of quo warranto.
