Parson encourages additional funding of program

Gov. Mike Parson has asked legislators to provide additional support and funding for future Missourians interested in choosing a career in law enforcement through a program titled “Missouri Blue Scholarship”. Saying the scholarship has already helped fund the training of 217 Missouri law enforcement recruits, the governor requested that lawmakers approve additional funding of the scholarship program in both a supplemental budget bill and the state operating budget for the next fiscal year. Richmond High School Principal Brandon Quick expressed his thoughts about the program for Missouri students who see a future in law enforcement. “I’m for supporting the students – encouraging them to apply to these scholarships if they have that interest,” said Quick. “It’s nice to see legislators seeing a need in that area and supporting those students who want and need the program.” Parson announced the Missouri Blue Scholarship program in October 2022 as a way to help attract more Missourians…
