Parent Café inspires family discussions

With the goal of making families stronger, “Parent Café” was offered to area residents earlier this month. Easterseals Midwest Home Visiting presented the free event in hopes of building a family framework and to explain five protective factors – resilience, relationships, knowledge, support and communication. “At the cafés, parents are able to have meaningful and guided conversations about what matters most — our families — and how to make them stronger. We at Easterseals Midwest Home Visiting offer these events twice per month across Northwest Missouri,” said Easterseals Midwest Home Visiting Representative Toni Reynolds. “Parent Cafés are important because they allow a safe place for parents to come together, share a meal and conversation,” she stated. There is a limit of 22 participants per event and Reynolds encourages people to sign up ahead of time.
