Orrick schools implement phone policy
The Orrick School District has implemented a new cell phone policy for the 2024-2025 school year.
The school policy clearly prohibits the use of phones during school hours. To facilitate compliance, each student will be provided with a personal Yondr Pouch to securely store their phones. It is important to note that the Yondr Pouch is school property and as such, students are required to bring it to school daily and ensure that it is well-maintained.
“For the most part, it has been a very smooth transition,” said Orrick High School Principal Seth Morton. “I think many students have welcomed the break from the pressures that come with a cell phone. It’s been refreshing to see students talking in the hall and enjoying each other’s company.”
