Orrick man – charged with child abuse – released
An Orrick man has been released from Ray County Jail after posting bond while facing a felony child abuse charge.
On May 13, a warrant was issued for Marcus J. McClellan, 31, on charges of abuse or neglect of a child with no sexual contact.
McClellan was arrested on the warrant Dec. 16 and was recently released after posting a $300 bond.
He will appear for his initial hearing before Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Lori J. Baskins at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 28, 2025.
According to the complaint filed by Ray County Prosecuting Attorney Camille Johnston, the range of punishment for this class D felony is imprisonment in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections for a term not less than one year and not to exceed seven years; or by imprisonment for a special term not to exceed one year in the county jail or other authorized penal institution; or by a fine not to exceed $10,000; or by both imprisonment and a fine.
