Showing gratitude for local veterans, Orrick Christian Church (OCC) representatives recently delivered gifts and cash to Veterans Community Project (VCP) Outreach Center in Kansas City, Mo. The group delivered more than 200 items, with a total value of $500, along with $1,795 in cash and gift card donations as a tribute to veterans. Mike and Barbara Britt of OCC presented Executive Director of VCP Chris Admire with the donations. “As a veteran, our church seeks to express our deep appreciation of the freedoms that we are blessed with within this country. This is just one of the ways we express our thanks to veterans,” said Mike. From Armed Forces Day in mid-May until early July, the church conducted a food and hygiene item drive, along with the collection of money and gift cards, as tributes to the veterans. “This outpouring of love was an expression of deep appreciation to those who have sacrificed for our country,” the couple stated.
