Officials consider 3% raises for all Ray County employees
RICHMOND – The cost has not been determined, but officeholders comprising the Ray County Salary Commission agreed generally to give themselves and all employees 3% raises, Western Ray County Commissioner Gary Wilhite said.
The salary commission met Nov. 17 to continue an earlier discussion about how either a 2% or 3% raise would affect the budget. They did not receive a ready answer.
“We’re waiting to see what the budget’s going to be,” Presiding Commissioner Bob King said.
The coming year’s budget has not been set, Wilhite said.
“We’ll make the determination at that point,” he said.
The salary commission will recommend whether to give raises, and he and the two other Ray County commissioners will decide whether the money is available, Wilhite said.
