RICHMOND – Lt. Steven V. Wilhoit became captain and commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, March 1.

Troop A serves a broad area, including Ray and Clay counties.

Wilhoit joined the patrol July 1, 1996, as a member of the 72nd Recruit Class. Having served in various capacities while moving through the ranks, on July 1, 2014, Wilhoit moved up to lieutenant and joined the Division of Drug & Crime Control, General Headquarters, Jefferson City.
