More than 60 people gathered at Southview B-Field in Richmond last Wednesday to pray for nineyear- old Presley Minnick of Richmond ahead of her surgery to treat a rare cancer. The vigil was led by Orrick Christian Church Pastor Art Endsley. Presley was diagnosed with chondroblastic osteosarcoma, a rare cancer. A large tumor was found during a dentist appointment in April. Doctors found that the tumor had already affected her sinuses, nose, eye and cheek. Last week’s surgery entailed removing Presley’s front cheek bone and taking fat from her thigh to place in her cheek as filler. According to updates on the “Presley’s Journey” Facebook page, she has a feeding tube in her nose along with some drainage tubes. Her family is chronicling Presley’s recovery via videos and pictures on that Facebook page. Four days post surgery, Presley was up and moving, as the community of Richmond continues to pray for her recovery.
