McGaugh details state updates in Capitol Report

District 7 Missouri Representative Peggy McGaugh has released her latest Capitol Report, highlighting Missouri’s kickoff of the America 250 celebration, upcoming changes to vehicle sales tax and licensing, labor law reforms, student assessment results and a new federal pilot program for classroom testing. Missouri has launched its official celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday with the kickoff of Show-Me America 250. Governor Mike Kehoe announced the initiative during the opening ceremony of the Missouri State Fair, which he proclaimed a “Great American Fair.” The celebration will highlight Missouri’s role in American history from the Louisiana Purchase to westward expansion while encouraging reflection on the past, recognition of the present and preparation for the future. Programs will focus on three themes. Education efforts will support civic and patriotic learning in schools. Community involvement will be encouraged through events and service projects.
