Lawson R-XIV bond proposal appears on ballot
A new bond issue for the Lawson R-XIV School District will be decided by voters during the April 7 municipal election. If approved, funds would mainly be used towards facility improvements.
Approval of the bond issue would not increase taxes for residents but rather would allow the district to use existing revenue to expand learning opportunities for students.
The ballot question asks: “ Shall Lawson Reorganized School District No. R-XIV of Ray County, Missouri, issue its general obligation bonds in the amount of $3,000,000 for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, repairing, improving, extending, remodeling, renovating, furnishing and equipping new and existing school facilities, including but not limited to the following: • Constructing an Agriculture Education Learning Lab space, including an agriculture mechanics shop and classroom
• Parking lot pavement repair and overlay If this proposition is approved, the district’s debt service tax levy is estimated to remain unchanged…
