Kiwanians ready for raffle

Richmond Kiwanis members are prepped for their Second Annual Go for the Groceries raffle on Saturday, Nov. 18. and “in time for Thanksgiving,” said Kiwanis President Maxine Moore. “The raffle winner will be able to dash through the store, pushing a cart and tossing in groceries,” said Moore. “The winner may fill as many carts as possible.” Last year’s winner netted more than $1,300 in groceries, gathered during a five-minute run at Harps Grocery Store in Richmond. Tickets are $10 each or six for $50. Tickets are available from club members and at Harps. The semi-final draw will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11. “We will notify the semi-finalists by phone or text,” noted Moore. The final drawing will be held immediately before the run at 9 a.m. Semi-finalists must be present to win the grand prize or consolation prizes, and gift certificates to Harps Grocery Store. There is a one-minute limit for selecting items from the meat department, and the winner may select one package of meat…
