Since Ray County 911 severed ties with the Ray County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD), the department now has to enter and cancel warrants on its own. Ray County Jail Administrator Melanie Pumphery explained her new process at the jail. “I am the only person here who is trained who has ever had any type of warrant entry experience, so I am doing it all. I came from Clay County dispatch. This is nothing new for me, this isn’t confusing. This is my wheelhouse,” said Pumphery. She confirmed that it’s been a little bit since she has done them, but when reaching out to Ray County 911 Dispatch, they were “phenomenal” to work with, she said.
