Incoming Beacon Health CEO shares 988 crisis support
With urgency and empathy, incoming Beacon Mental Health CEO Dr. Kristin Feeback walked Ray County Coalition members through the lifesaving capabilities of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, dispelling myths and emphasizing that anyone can call, text or chat – at any time, for any reason.
“I love talking about 988,” stated Feeback, who currently leads ComCare, a behavioral health organization that serves as a 988call center for 22 counties in Missouri. “By the time you leave here, you will know anything and everything you’ve ever wanted to know about 988.”
The three-digit number launched nationwide as a streamlined, memorable access point for those facing mental health or substance use crises. While some still associate it only with suicide prevention, Feeback emphasized that misunderstanding limits the service’s reach.
