High school returns to normal schedule; opt-out offered
RICHMOND – Classes return to normal Monday at Richmond High School, though students may opt out of in-class learning, Superintendent Greg Darling said.
“The high school’s going to go back to regular classes, face-to-face,” he said.
The middle and elementary schools already are on a normal schedule.
“The high school is a hybrid right now,” consisting of some in-class face time and some online learning, Darling said.
Decreased COVID-19 numbers let the district transition to all-day, in-class learning, he said. The district continues to follow health protocols.
“We have masking, we have smaller classes and we have virtual, so we are able to have a safe climate,” Darling said.

By being self-quarantined last week, 65 students and staff helped to allow the high school to reopen. Nine of the 65 are at the high school; one has the virus.
