Hardin pair charged in $3M elder exploitation
Two Hardin residents have been arrested after allegedly stealing more than $3 million from an elderly couple through a years-long scheme involving forged documents, fraudulent deeds and financial manipulation.
Kirsten Hansuld, 34, is facing six felony charges, including two counts of financial exploitation of an elder or disabled person, two counts of filing false documents and two counts of stealing $25,000 or more, teller machine or contents. Kirsten’s husband, Trenton Hansuld, 31, is charged with eight felonies, including the same six charges as Kirsten, along with another count of filing false documents and one count of forgery.
The pair appeared in Ray County Court this week and entered not guilty pleas to their separate charges before Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Lori J. Baskins.
