Grant awarded to Orrick FFA
Orrick High School (OHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA) was awarded a $500 grant from Farm Credit System (FCS) Financial to give back to the community, said OHS FFA Advisor Don Honeycutt. The grant is in partnership with the Richmond and Hardin-Central FFA chapters.
“The grant will be used to make improvements at the Ray County Fairground, specifically the livestock barns and wash rack,” said Honeycutt. “We will work together to fix the leaking wash rack, to help conserve water as well as place panels around the wash rack area to help make it safer for the animals and the exhibitors,” Honeycutt stated.
Application for the grant was made in March, he said, noting FFA students were grateful to have been awarded.
FCS Financial initiated the Shaping Rural Missouri Grant, where there are $500 grants for local 4-H and FFA organizations. The funds assist chapters with bringing positive change in their communities and encourage collaboration with other community groups. The grant can be…
