Rayville Christian Union Church Pastor Mark Bickford and his fellowship hosted their first toy drive this December. The organization partnered with New Beginnings Church Pastor Phillip Powers. Powers oversees the Salvation Army store and assists with Harvesters Community Food Network in Richmond. Inside the church, tables were filled with toys from multiple other drives, held for the end purpose of church’s event. As parents arrived, an assistant helped with the shopping process. Parents were allowed to choose three small toys or a big and small toy, along with a blanket, board game and stocking stuffers. Food boxes were also available, although parents were required to sign up in advance. Residents were allowed to pick up toys, food boxes or both. “It was a great experience. Partnering with Phil and reaching out to the community while sharing the love of Christ through the drive. I look forward to doing it next year,” said Bickford.
