First Tactical jackets approved for city police
RICHMOND CITY COUNCIL members approved the purchase of Richmond Police Department-issued jackets. Each jacket is priced at $136.99, and Police Chief Scott Bagley said there were nine officers that needed jackets, therefore the total was $1,232.91.
“The jackets would be a First Tactical softshell material made from a nylon-spandex blend with a fleece lining to keep warm. The jacket is both wind and water resistant and can be worn under the outer vest carrier for optimal comfort in the field,” Bagely said.
Bagely explained RPD received a quote from Alterations & Custom Sewing from the nine jackets, and it was unanimously approved.
“Currently, the jackets for the department are worn over the outer vest carrier and are not ideal for officers to be able to access equipment on the vest quickly.
