FFA Creed Incentives for Richmond Greenhands
At the beginning of the year for any Introduction to Agriculture class students begin by learning about the distinct aspects of Future Farmers of America (FFA). Lately, students have been busy memorizing the FFA Creed. The FFA Creed outlines the values and beliefs of FFA, agriculture, citizenship, and patriotism.
The Richmond FFA and Friends of the Richmond FFA (FORFFA) offer incentives to encourage first year FFA members, called Greenhands, to remember this important creed. The FFA chapter offered a free FFA jacket to the first three members who recited the entire FFA Creed from memory.
The FORFFA offered a $25 visa gift card to provide further incentives to the first-year members. Mrs. Laura Allen, the Intro to Agriculture teacher, offers an ice cream party to all members who recite the Creed from memory to sweeten the deal.
