Farmers Market opens
RICHMOND – The weekly Richmond Farmers Market opened for business with one vendor, Ray Todd, offering goods for sale Saturday.
“I don’t have a mask on,” customer Steve Marshall says. “Grocery stores are open, so I guess it’s OK.”
Todd says there is little reason to worry about infection in the open air, as long as people do not get too close to each other.
Marshall says he had not intended to stop and shop, but noticed Todd’s table and awning while driving past the marketplace on Business Highway 10, half a block west of the city square.
“I was on my way by and I just happened to see him,” Marshall says.
Paying attention to his surroundings results in Marshall buying fresh onions and zucchini bread with nuts.
